Cheonjiyeon Falls

One of top recommended natural places you need to visit in South Korea is the Cheonjiyeon Falls. Ceonjiyeon that means “God’s Pon,” derives its name from the legend telling about 7 fairies serving the King of Heaven came down to the pond on stairs of cloud. He bathed in its clean waters. That’s how the name was taken.

Cheonjiyeon Falls is apart from the wild Dampalsu trees. It is designated as the natural monument no.163. The forest where Cheonjiyeon Falls stand also contains some great unique rare plants such as Songyeopnan, Sanyuja trees, brambles, and camellias. They are natural monument no.379.

In the wooded place, you and your family can take a walk along the subtropical path towards the Cheonjiyeon Falls. For a kilometer, you will hear the Cheonjiyeon Falls sound clearly.

The waterfall comprises 20 m in depth, 22 m in high, and 12 m wide. The clear Cheonjiyeon Falls is designated as the monument no. 27. The best time to visit here when the annual Seven Fairies Festival is held in May.
