The Beijing Olympics Ice Cube was built for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. Construction on the Cube began in 2003. The project took four years to complete. The cube is known not only for its unique design but for the materials that were used to build it. The design is created to absorb solar radiation and reduce thermal loss. This will save a lot of energy costs when the event held.
The bubbles are enlightened by LED bulbs that give marvelous energy of blue light.
During the Beijing 2008 Olympics Game, Beijing Olympics Ice Cube housed many shows like swimming, diving, synchronized swimming and water polo games. The cube provides about 17 thousands seats.
