Beijing's Famous Temple of Heaven

Temple of Heaven Tour is one of the most fantastic activity you must do beside visiting Forbidden City and  Tian An Men Square. It is one of the most fantastic and unique place you need to pay a visit with your family or lover. The incredible architecture clearly shows what happened during the past. It is photogenic so that you can take as many incredible pictures as you want from this place.

So what is it actually? It is the temple used by Chinese Emperor to worship heaven and make sacrifices. One thing that shocked me when I read about the sacrifices is that they are human!

In the past time, the emperor was believed to be the real son of heaven. That’s why he could rule the world, take people’s life, and make ceremonies that he thought important for his country.

Agriculture was the main important aspect for the China’s wealth. If the harvest were bad, it would threat the emperor’s stability.

This temple has 2 main parts of buildings: the Northern and southern part. The semicircle located in the northern part symbolizes the heavens. The square of southern part symbolizes earth. Ancient Chinese folks believed that the shape of earth was square and circle for the heaven.

Circular Mound Alter is the main building of Temple of Heaven.

If you have spare time to recreate, it is better to give a try to Temple of Heaven Tour. Walking around there is such a nice activity. You can visit Forbidden City for the first half day and take a walk to the Temple of Heaven Tour in the rest of the day.
