Bridge of Sighs – Venice Tour, Italy



The beautiful and legendary bridge in Venice city that you must see and visit is the Bridge of Sighs. The famous Bridge of Sighs was designed by genius architect Antonio Contino and was built at the beginning of the 17th century.

Then why is it named as Bridge of Sighs? There are some versions as to how the bridge got its name. The first one tells about the prisoners that walked across the bridge on their way to the executioner, and sighed as they crossed the bridge.

Other story says about couple kissing under the bridge. Then, the “sighs”  are said to come from couples who are overwhelmed by the romance of the whole scene.
